GVA sponsors a neighborhood wide Christmas party.

This event is special because it is centered on the children.

It's All About the Kids

Since 2016, GVA organizes an annual community outreach event for all the children in the community. Our students and families volunteer to cook, entertain (including traditional tribal performances!) and serve all the attendees of the annual Christmas party.

The highlight of the event is the gift-giving, of course. Every child receives a gift from their "wish-list". To make that happen, we go to every family's home and ask the children what they want for Christmas. Usually, they ask for toys, soccer balls, and books. Then we take to Amazon where our families and friends donate the requested items. The day before the party, our volunteers individually wrap and label each present.

This event is special because it is centered on the children. Parents are welcomed to attend but the food and entertainment are set up for only the children. It's THEIR day.
